No. 104552 19 September 2018 Excellency, Upon instructions from my Government, I wish to draw your attention to the inflammatory statements by Benjamin Netanyahu, boasting about the nuclear weapons capability of the Israeli regime and threatening Iran with nuclear annihilation. In his speech, he then pointed to Iran and asserted that "on the military level, Israel will act with full force against Iran", and explicitly threatened Iran with nuclear aggression and annihilation.

Madam President, The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the agreement between Russia and Turkey to create a demilitarized buffer zone in Idlib province of Syria. The Sochi agreement is the result of intensive responsible diplomacy over the last few weeks in Ankara and Damascus, followed by the Iran-Russia-Turkey Summit in Tehran. The agreement is based on the Astana Process principled approach and spirit in creating de-escalation zones in order to reduce the possibility of civilian casualties while fighting against terrorists.
