The last week move by US Department of the Treasury to include the name of the governor of the Central ‎Bank of Iran and one of its directors on the sanctions list is a sign of the US’ blatant defiance of well-‎established international norms and rules including immunity of governments and central banks. ‎
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has taken a swipe at the new US secretary of state for the meddlesome comments he made against Tehran in the so-called new US strategy.
US diplomacy sham is merely a regression to old habits: imprisoned by delusions & failed policies—dictated by corrupt Special Interest—it repeats the same wrong choices and will thus reap the same ill rewards. Iran, meanwhile, is working with partners for post-US JCPOA solutions.

Statement by H.E. Mr. Gholamali Khoshroo Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations Security Council Open Debate “Upholding International Law Within the Context of the Maintenance of International Peace and Security” New York, 17 May 2018
Statement by H.E. Mr. Gholamali Khoshroo Ambassador and Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the United Nations at the Ambassadorial level meeting of the OIC New York- 16 May 2018 At the outset, allow me to express my gratitude to the Permanent Mission of Turkey for convening this important meeting. I also commend the state of Kuwait for the initiative to call for the emergency meeting of the Security Council, yesterday, to consider the current situation in Gaza. Mr. Chairman, Distinguished Colleagues After 7 decades and due to negligence and silence of international community, Israeli regime’s brutal policies and practices toward Palestinian people continue to violate the fundamental human rights and dignity of the Palestinian people and other Arabs living under its occupation. Meanwhile, this week, which mark 70 years since the tragic Nakba of the Palestinian people in 1948, the military aggression against peaceful protesters of Palestinian civilian in Gaza, have led to yet another massacre by Israeli regime.
When the world cries over the massacre of dozens and the injuring of thousands of innocent unarmed Palestinian civilian protesters, including women and children, and while the Security Council has convened an emergency meeting to address this terrible crime, the United States Permanent Representative chose to talk about Iran, and NOT the Israeli regime’s appalling crimes. The United States Permanent Representative leveled tired and nonsensical allegations against Iran simply to distract from the global call to put an immediate end to the brutal mass murder in Gaza.
Mr. President, Maintaining international peace and security, and preventing and removing threats to peace constitute the very raison dêtre of our organization. Thus, a renewed focus on peacebuilding and sustaining peace is of singular importance in light of the tensions that we currently face, particularly in our region, which has suffered the most from lingering conflicts
n the Name of God, the most Compassionate the most Merciful Mr. President, At the beginning, I convey my Delegation’s appreciation to Peru for convening this open debate on the situation in the Middle East, including the Question of Palestine, at this critical juncture for Palestine and the Middle East.
Permanent Representatives of US and UK, during the Security Council open briefing on Yemen on 17 April 2018 repeated their derogatory allegations about Iran to cover up their own role in the disastrous situation created in Yemen. Iran categorically rejects those allegations as baseless propaganda. The fact is that the war of aggression of Saudi Arabia in Yemen is the main underlying reason for the escalation of the crisis. It is regrettable that Saudi Arabia and its war mongers supporters, as the main party responsible for such a catastrophic humanitarian situation, are trying to cover up their shameful crimes by introducing false charges against others or trying to spread the crisis beyond Yemens borders. US and UK are enjoying a blood business in Yemen now. US is not only supplying bombs to Saudi planes to target civilians but recently has developed its role to formally participating in the planning this inhumane war too. US and UK complicity in the creation of the worst humanitarian crisis in the world in Yemen is reprehensible and immeasurable.
26 Feb 2018- Today US and UK attempted to misuse Security Council procedures to advance their political agenda and put the blame of all happens in Yemen on Iran, by pushing an unwarranted draft resolution.
